I LOVE to cook - but with a 9 month old I don't always find the time. I need quick, easy, tasty, and healthy! One of my favorite go to's is homemade pizza... I use pre made whole wheat dough so it's even faster to make!
The other night I made 2 pizzas - the first one had pesto, mozzarella, shaved Parmesan, sliced baby heirloom tomatoes, and a sprinkle of garlic salt (just on the tomatoes before I put them on the pizza) and it came out FANTASTIC!!!
The second pizza had BBQ sauce (we be crazy!!!), with mozzarella, chicken, and red onion... Once again, this pizza was great!!!
The BBQ pizza may not be the healthiest... But it sure was delicious!

big dreams
i (sadly) am not a stay at home mom - but that's all i dream of while sitting at my blah desk 9-5 m-f. i have felt it in my bones since i was a wee one that all i wanted was my own wee one! and i have HER! and she is even better than all of my dreams combined times a million! she is curious, and smart, and funny, and dang it if she doesn't have the best smile EVER! and to top it all off? she now does the cutest dang high pitched squeak when i walk into the room... i mean! make your heart melt!
i have something in the works - something BIG! well, big for me - maybe not for everyone else = )
i'm working on making my dreams come true - and living the life i want to live - and how i want to live. and lucky for me, i have a husband who fully supports me - and busts his butt every day to make this all happen sooner rather than later.
i really am a lucky girl = )
update on this little venture coming soon ; )

for the love of milk... part III
soooo - the wee one can drink regular formula!!! WOOHOO!
i so with all of my entire being WISH i could have breastfed lou for a whole year - but she wouldn't nurse. and pumping every 3-4 hours was TOUGH!!! i was waking up in the middle of the night to try and keep up.... and i was barely keeping up. i got stressed - really, really stressed. so over christmas break (i took that week off of work), i decided to try soy formula again. she. would. not. eat. it.
so we decided to risk it - and we tried regular formula. AND SHE ATE IT! AND THERE WAS NO BLOOD IN HER STOOL! and all is well in our little world.
Since then i have been easing off of pumping - to the point where i am only down to pumping once at night for her bedtime bottle. i'll probably stop that pretty soon too, i'm just not getting much out.
my little lou is happy, i am happy, and we have more freedom out and about in the world.

Something they don't tell you....
Is that having a baby will make your husband (spouse/partner) look at you like you're crazy. And maybe you are....but you rightfully are.

for the love of milk...part II
so - it turns out the wee one also didn't sit well with hypoallergenic formula (say what?!?) - so i called her dr - the one she has had for all 5 plus months of her life.... and he told me to just keep feeding it to her. keep feeding her the stuff that caused blood in her stool. um, EXCUSE ME?!?!
no - that is not an option
so we found a new dr. a dr that a close family friend used for her wee one (who is now not so wee at 6'5"). and we love him - he was informative and helpful and nice and all the things you want in a pediatrician. it is a bit of a hike for us to get to him - but it is worth it.
since she is mostly fed breast milk and i only needed the extra formula for a couple oz's only a couple of times a week we came to
the conclusion with our NEW dr to start her on solids. they say to wait until 6 months to avoid her developing food allergies - but you know what? the poor thing gets BLOOD in her stool from formula!!! and she has been eyeballing us eating like kings for weeks now! weeks i tell you!
we started with organic rice cereal (just to get her started) and she'll start sweet potatoes tomorrow - and she's happy. she loves eating - and there is enough milk for her at the end of the day - and my stress level has gone way down
and we got a great new dr we can really trust
and all is well again
